Red Cedar 5K Run/Walk
June 26, 2010
The 1st annual Red Cedar 5k Run/Walk is a project designed to support fitness for all ages of the Williamston Community. A race team combining adults and students has developed to pull it off.
This inaugural event is held in memory of Ken Whelton, long-time Williamston community servant and the leader of the crews that set up, run and tear down for the Red Cedar Jubilee since its beginnings.
The Williamston Jubilee Auction
June 26, 2010

The Williamston Jubilee Auction is fast approaching! On June 26th, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm the gavel will fall on a long standing tradition. The Auctioneers cry will ring out from the Lion’s Food & Beverage tent across Deer Creek Park. Generous local businesses, professionals and individuals contribute to this major fund raising event for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Ingham County.
Items are being gathered at a nice clip with a great variety of items, gift certificates, and donations coming in but more are always welcome. Many of the items can be viewed in the front windows at Top Flight Financial Services (123 E. Grand River).
The current tight economy has made affordable decent housing even more critical. With a house just completed in Leslie and another to be started in Williamston this summer you can see the activity and benefits of your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. We need your support for this major fund raising event with donations and participation at the Auction. If you have something to donate please contact Julie Stickle (655-1483, leave a message after the barking dog) or the Habitat ReStore (655-3404).
