Regular Volunteers

Regulars

We rely heavily on our regular volunteers that consist of the (self-titled) Geezers and individuals. The Geezer Crew comes out weekly and is broken down into subgroups such as framing and trim. Our Geezer group is open to anyone 16 and older who is interested in volunteering regularly.

History: The Geezers were initially founded by a group of volunteers in 1985. These volunteers were instrumental in creating the Durham Habitat chapter. Their vision helped grow our organization into what it is today! They later created two Geezers sub-groups, who volunteer with us weekly and greatly contribute to creating affordable housing in Durham. Since then, the group had expanded into multiple other sub-groups. We are very excited to have you join this essential volunteer community and build with Durham Habitat!

Individuals

Individuals are a collection of regular volunteers that enjoy coming out and working on a regular basis. Individuals are certainly a big help, and with time, they can become a crew leader that will assist our site supervisors and teach new volunteers various tasks.

If you would like to join, please email our Volunteer Manager with your interest.
