Pride Build 2025

June 10, 2025

June is Pride Month, a month to celebrate and recognize the achievements and culture of the LGBTQ+ community as well as commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Riots. It is an important time for educating others about the challenges that members of the LGBTQ+ community face.

To celebrate the beginning of Pride Month, we hosted our annual Pride Build over the weekend! Each year, Durham Habitat hosts several volunteer shifts at the beginning of June to celebrate Pride. We had an amazing turnout this year with volunteer groups joining us from the LGBTQ Center of Durham, Village Hearth, Beghou Consulting, Pinnacle, and UUFR.

Special guest Tori Grace shared their knowledge, activism, and unwavering support for the community. Grace, otherwise known as G-Clef, is a local drag performer and queer advocate. We want to say a huge thank you to the groups that came out to build with us for this special event. It is a pleasure hosting every year and we had so much fun with you all!
